Hassle. As can be noticed often, air conditioners tend to drip due to the condensation of the air that is cooled off. You can either turn up the temperature of the air conditioning (which most people are not very willing to do) or you can put a bucket or pail to catch the dripping liquid. Changing those buckets can be very burdensome, not to mention it might also be hard on your back. Also, the more we use the air-con, the more likely we are to lose the remote. Finding anything that is misplaced is a frustrating experience. Not only that, air stagnant in a room for too long can start smelling weird, which means you'll have to open the windows every few hours to avoid the smell.
Other health issues. Air conditioning can induce asthma in some patients, not to mention it also induces runny noses in some people with sensitive sinuses. This can be irritating and downright dangerous. Your grandma wouldn't appreciate having to use her inhaler every half an hour because you won't live without having your air conditioner on.
Cost. This is the biggest con of having air conditioning. Your air-con absorbs electricity like a sponge absorbs water, and does it fast. Before you know it, all those 10-hour periods you leave your air-conditioner on adds up into hundreds of dollars, making your blissful smile turn into a frightful frown when the electricity bill arrives. Not only that, the maintenance and repair costs if your air conditioner breaks down can add another hundred or so dollars to your budget. Is it really worth it? Imagine how many romantic candlelight dinners with your spouse that can be bought with the amount of money you spend leaving the air conditioner on.

Maybe the cooling part is good, but the drying part isn't. It absorbs moisture from your skin and other body parts like your mouth as well. This will in turn give you dry skin and bad breath, and to fix these issues you will need to spend more money on lotions and bottles of mouthwash. Not to mention that pretty receptionist from your office will detest having a conversation with you that requires standing anywhere within a 10 meter radius of your mouth.
In the modern day, the air conditioner is considered a big blessing. After all, who wants to suffer in the sweltering heat right? Just watching all those happy smiling commercial people on TV switch on their air conditioner and smile in bliss makes you feel like having one in every room of your home. But then, think again. There are many disadvantages in using the air conditioner.
So think again if you really need to use the air conditioner today. Yes, it cools you off and leaves you feeling all pleasant, but in the long run it will cause some of the issues that have been highlighted above, sooner or later. Try to opt instead for stand fans which cannot probably give you the same cooling effect, but will get some of the job done anyway. If it is a cloudy day outside, open the windows and let some wind in. Be more eco (and cost) friendly today. Now, switch off that air conditioner!
